Abstract:
This protocol presents a detailed, step-by-step method to generate three-dimensional (3D) extracellular matrix (ECM) scaffolds derived from cells cultured in fertilized chicken eggs. This innovative approach leverages the natural environment of the developing egg to produce physiologically relevant ECM structures. The resulting 3D scaffolds provide a robust platform to investigate cellular behavior in response to ECM composition and organization in an ex vivo setting. This method offers a cost-effective and scalable alternative to traditional in vitro and in vivo models to study ECM, enabling researchers to explore cell-ECM interactions with greater biological fidelity.
