Abstract:
Trophectoderm (TE) biopsy is the preferred method for obtaining embryo specimens for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). Containing approximately 5-10 cells, TE biopsies offer a stronger DNA amplification template, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and representing the whole embryo's chromosomal makeup better than single-cell biopsies. Performing TE biopsy demands advanced micromanipulation expertize. The procedure involves using laser technology alongside micromanipulation to separate the specimen from the blastocyst. Different methods can be employed based on the blastocyst's features and laboratory conditions. Biopsy tubing requires exceptional manual dexterity and coordination. Achieving an efficient PGT program relies on optimized blastocyst culture, biopsy, tubing techniques, and reliable cryopreservation processes.
