Abstract:
Previous light-mediated approaches to the direct decarboxylative Giese amidation reaction relied on the use of costly, nonsustainable photocatalysts and faced challenges in efficient scale-up. We have successfully developed a photocatalyst-free, light-mediated methodology via a pathway that is thought to involve in situ EDA formation. The reaction is applicable in batch as well as under flow conditions, including efficient scale-up to gram scale in flow.
