[Prehospital point-of-care ultrasound]

This article examines the specific features of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in prehospital emergency medicine, including its indications, techniques, and limitations. POCUS plays an important role in the diagnostic process, in guiding treatment strategies, and in patient triage in the prehospital setting. It also contributes to the continuity of care upon arrival at the emergency department. However, its use must remain appropriate and should never delay critical interventions. Its integration into clinical decision-making requires proficiency not only in performing the examination, but also in clinical reasoning and prehospital management. Structured training and systematic archiving of examinations appear essential for both medicolegal and quality assurance purposes.
