Endovascular Management of Aorto-iliac Bifurcation Rupture

Iatrogenic rupture at the aorto-iliac bifurcation is a rare but important life-threatening complication of endovascular intervention with limited guidance in the literature. This case report includes two cases of intra-procedural aorto-iliac bifurcation rupture managed emergently with temporary balloon occlusion and covered kissing stent placement. Both cases highlight the source of the complication and viable initial strategies for achieving temporary hemostasis while emphasizing the need for rapid recognition, appropriate equipment, and close collaboration with vascular surgery.
