Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer by incidence and the second most common cause of cancer-related death in the United States. Colonoscopy is the gold standard in diagnosis and can additionally provide therapeutic interventions. This article outlines current advances, challenges, and best practices in regard to high-quality colonoscopy.
