Abstract:
Short-crystallite disordered hard carbon is constructed through flash Joule heating. This process generates an abrupt entropy surge and induces explosive nucleation of carbon crystallites. The high-entropy state concurrently promotes disordered stacking configurations that spatially constrain crystallite growth via steric hindrance.
