Abstract:
Susana Coelho is an evolutionary developmental biologist who uses brown algae as a model system to investigate the evolution of multicellularity, development, and life-cycle complexity. After doctoral training as a cell biologist at the Marine Biological Association in Plymouth, UK and postdoctoral research at the CNRS in France, she became Research Director at the Roscoff Biological Station before joining the Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen as Director and Scientific Member.
