Abstract:
The title compound, C26H22F3NO2, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit with very similar geometries. The two mol-ecules are characterized by a short (H⋯F ≃ 2.13 Å) intra-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bond between the central methine C atom and the CF3 group. The cyclo-hexenone rings adopt envelope conformations, with a maximum deviation of a methyl-ene C atom of 0.55 (6) and 0.63 (5) Å in one mol-ecule and 0.61 (5) and 0.64 (5) Å in the other. The tri-fluoro-methyl-phenyl and phenyl rings are almost normal to the di-hydro-pyridine mean plane, with dihedral angles lying between 84.35 (9) and 88.81 (8)°.
