Purpose:
To evaluate the association between IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and the incidence of uveitis.
Methods:
Using a multicenter global research network, adult patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) were compared to a control cohort of patients diagnosed with nephrosclerosis following a renal biopsy. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed to balance baseline characteristics between the IgAN and control cohort.
Results:
4,431 and 8,307 patients were identified for the IgAN and control groups, respectively. After PSM, 3,835 patients were included in both groups. A total of 18 patients (0.474%) in the IgAN group developed uveitis, compared with ≤10 patients (0.263%) in the control group. This result corresponds to a HR of 2.21 (95% CI [1.02, 4.80]; p = 0.0394).
Conclusions:
Patients with IgAN had a higher risk of developing uveitis compared with matched controls with nephrosclerosis. These findings suggest a potential association between IgAN and ocular inflammatory disease. Further research is needed in order to assess this potential association.

Clinical manifestations of acute gastritis
The patient with acute gastritis may have a rapid onset of symptoms, such as epigastric pain or discomfort, dyspepsia, anorexia, hiccups, or nausea and vomiting, which can last from a few hours to a few days. Erosive or hemorrhagic gastritis may cause bleeding, which may manifest as blood in vomit or as...
