Abstract:
Skin and soft tissue infections in the nonhuman immunodeficiency virus immunocompromised host encompass a wide breadth of common and opportunistic pathogens. Recognizing specific immune defects, host environment, nosocomial exposure, and unique clinical presentation all play a vital role in honing a differential diagnosis for Skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs). This article highlights key advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of organisms with a particular predilection for causing SSTIs in immunocompromised hosts.
