[Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Tumor of the Lung:Report of a Case]

The patient was a woman in her 40s. She had a 13 mm pulmonary tumor in the left upper lobe that was identified on chest computed tomography( CT). Fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET)/CT revealed no FDG uptake. Surgery was performed for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. A portion of the tumor was submitted for frozen section diagnosis. No malignant findings were observed, so enucleation was performed. The postoperative pathological diagnosis was a benign perivascular epithelioid cell tumor( PEComa). Although most PEComas are benign, their biological malignancy remains unclear in some aspects;therefore, careful postoperative follow-up is considered necessary.
