The genome sequence of the Common Quaker, Orthosia cerasi (Fabricius, 1775) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Abstract:
We present a genome assembly from an individual female Orthosia cerasi (Common Quaker; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Noctuidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 1 022.21 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.88%) is scaffolded into 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.39 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 15 702 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
