Abstract:
This paper proposes through a numerical example that two-phase flow modeling provides a novel approach to address the challenge in modeling the cross-scale coupling between the tectonic and surface carbon cycles despite extreme viscosity contrasts, which unravels how deep Earth tectonics regulate atmospheric composition over geological time.
