[Expert recommendation on the application and development of artificial intelligence-enhanced electrocardiography in
Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence Electrocardiogram (AI-ECG) is an important application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The popularization of AI-ECG can provide technical support for early screening, diagnosis, risk assessment, and mobile management of arrhythmia related diseases. In order to promote the standardized application, dynamic evaluation, and open innovation of AI-ECG, the Cardiac Rhythm Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering takes the lead and collaborates with the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association to organize cardiovascular specialists, artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, clinical research, and medical ethics experts. Based on evidence-based research at home and abroad, after multiple rounds of expert discussions and Delphi voting, expert recommendations are finally jointly formulated. This proposal proposes 16 core recommendations, providing a guiding framework for the development and clinical practice of AI-ECG related products. In addition, the proposal also elaborates on the technical specifications, application scenarios, management standards, ethical supervision, and future development directions of AI-ECG, thereby promoting the comprehensive improvement of intelligent diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia. Unlike traditional consensus and guidelines that rely heavily on GRADE evidence levels, this recommendation combines medical evidence-based assessment with medical device engineering standards and international artificial intelligence regulatory frameworks, providing a reference for the development of artificial intelligence guidelines or consensus in the medical field.

Electrocardiogram Fundamentals
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool for identifying cardiac conditions such as arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and myocardial ischemia.
Definition
An electrocardiogram (ECG) visualizes the heart's electrical activity by tracing the electrical movement associated with each heartbeat on a graph or monitor. As the heart beats, an electrical wave passes through it, correlating with the cardiac cycle events.
