Abstract:
The clinical preceptor plays a fundamental role in health professionals training. Their performance influences the acquisition of clinical competencies, the development of professional identity and the integration of ethical standards by students. Although interventions exist to strengthen preceptors' teaching competencies, there is a gap concerning the contextual factors that affect the transfer of these competencies into real clinical training settings. The aim of the present study is to describe contextual factors that influence the performance of clinical preceptors in health professions, explicitly documenting differences across health disciplines and by countries' income levels. The review will follow JBI and PRISMA-ScR guidelines.
