Abstract:
Practical CO2 capture and utilisation (CCU) processes must be energy-efficient. Microwave (MW) heating is used here as a fully electrified method to both desorb and hydrogenate CO2 into CH4 over inexpensive susceptors, sorbents and catalysts. Three reactor bed configurations and the resulting methane energy cost are compared, prompting recommendations for future work.
