Psychological Autopsy Protocols - A Selective Narrative Review

Psychological autopsy (PA) is a methodological approach aimed at reconstructing the psychological and contextual factors leading to an individual's death, particularly in cases of suicide. This article provides a comprehensive review of Psychological Autopsy Protocols, examining their evolution across the decades from the first generation of psychological autopsy studies to a second generation focusing on methodological improvements.

Methodological aspects of psychological autopsies are discussed, emphasizing both strengths and limitations of the approach.
