Abstract:
PdPbM catalysts were synthesized using a solvothermal route by doping various oxophilic elements. Pd14Pb5Co, via Co-induced electronic modulation, achieves exceptional mass activities of 8.02 A mgPd-1 (ethanol oxidation) and 1.02 A mgPd-1 (oxygen reduction). These findings provide a promising strategy for designing high-performance bifunctional fuel cell catalysts.

One of the convenient methods for the preparation of aldehydes and ketones is via hydration of alkynes. Hydroboration-oxidation of alkynes is an indirect hydration reaction in which an alkyne is treated with borane followed by oxidation with alkaline peroxide to form an enol that rapidly converts into an aldehyde or a ketone.
