[Hybrid medicine in the 21st century (Part 1)]

Hybrid medicine, consisting of remote care alternating with face-to-face care, has been developing in many countries since the end of the Covid19 pandemic. It structures new care pathways, particularly for patients with chronic diseases. Remote care uses digital health tools (apps, digital medical devices) and telehealth practices (telemedicine and telecare). In this first part, we deal with the quality of teleconsultation, which must be based on a structured questioning of the patient, which can lead to an evocation of the diagnosis in 70% of cases, as the numerous studies carried out in internal medicine have shown. Physical examination, although it contributes to the diagnosis in 5% of cases, is not always reliable. It is the paraclinical examinations prescribed during the patient's questioning that now contribute to the diagnosis in 25% of cases.
