Research Progress in Anesthesia Management in Orthognathic Surgery
1Department of Anesthesiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
Abstract:
Orthognathic surgery corrects dentomaxillofacial deformities and restores facial shape and occlusal function. It has become an important part of plastic and cosmetic surgery in recent yearsMD. Orthognathic surgery is complex and has specific postoperative complications. Perioperative anesthesia management is challenging, and there are few related studies. This narrative review outlines the research progress of anesthesia management in orthognathic surgery. It introduces the indications, methods, and features of orthognathic surgery and summarizes preoperative evaluation, anesthesia management, anesthetic drugs, and complication prevention. Perioperative management of orthognathic surgery is still under study. More high-quality research is needed in the future to better guide anesthesia management for this surgery.
