[Management of large retroperitoneal tumors: preoperative evaluation and surgical strategies]
Abstract:
Surgical resection serves as the core therapeutic modality for retroperitoneal malignant tumors. However, challenges such as significant surgical trauma, high perioperative risks, suboptimal preservation of organ function, and a relatively high postoperative recurrence rate persist. Adequate preoperative evaluation, appropriate surgical approaches, and standardized resection ranges are key to enhancing perioperative safety and reducing postoperative recurrence rates for retroperitoneal tumors. Integrating relevant international guidelines, recent literature advances, and the clinical practice experience of our center, this article will provide a systematic discussion on the preoperative evaluation and surgical strategies for retroperitoneal tumors, focusing on the aforementioned core aspects. The aim is to achieve better survival benefits for patients while ensuring safety.
