Abstract:
As pleiotropic signaling molecules, bile acids not only act as emulsifiers for intestinal digestion. It is therefore not surprising that many bile acid signaling pathways have become key to regulating livestock and poultry metabolism to mitigate the negative effects of problems such as lipid deposition, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory responses. Here, we review the signaling of bile acids in lipid metabolism, glucose metabolism and inflammatory regulation. By examining the physiological characteristics of bile acids and the mechanisms of metabolic regulation, this review focuses on the development and utilization of bile acids in livestock and poultry health, and offers a theoretical foundation and perspective for further research on bile acids.
