Abstract:

Breast masses with contralateral axillary lymphadenopathy in patients with a previous ovarian tumor should not be presumed to be primary breast cancer. Careful review of prior pathology, broad immunohistochemical evaluation, and the least invasive tissue-sampling strategy sufficient for diagnosis may help avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary axillary surgery.
