Abstract:
Progesterone (P4) is an important steroid hormone that plays a crucial role in gestation maintenance, and endocrine regulation, so accurately determining its concentration is of great significance for clinical diagnosis and the evaluation of reproductive health; nevertheless, its low content in physiological samples makes it difficult to detect with high sensitivity. To address these challenges, a chemically processed sensing platform composed of a two-dimensional Ti3C2Tx MXene-β-cyclodextrin (MX-CD) composite is reported. Electrochemical studies by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry over a -0.6 to 1.6 V potential window showed a well-defined oxidation peak for P4 at about 0.856 V. The sensor exhibited a broad linear range of 10-500 nM; the LOD and LOQ were 0.46 nM and 1.52 nM, respectively.
