Abstract:
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known as potential biomarkers for cancer detection and therapeutic management owing to their epigenetic significance in gene expression and other cellular functions. In this review, evidence has been collected to reach the clinical effect and molecular mechanism of miR-770 in various cancers. MiR-770 dysregulation in different malignancies like breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, glioma, liver cancer, lung cancer, oral cancer, prostate cancer, and ovarian cancer has shown a significant decrease or increase in its expression, which indicates it acts as a tumor suppressor or oncogene. MiR-770 participates in cell growth, migration, and invasion via the cellular pathway, WNT (wingless-type MMTV integration site family)/β-catenin signaling pathways, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathway, phosphatidylinositol 3kinase (PI3K)-protein kinase B (AKT) signaling pathway, Notch signaling pathway, erythroblastic leukemia viral oncogene homolog (ErbB) signaling pathway, transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) signaling pathway, Insulin signaling pathway, ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis, Neurotrophin signaling pathway, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathway, and T cell and B cell receptor signaling pathway. In the present review, MiR-770 has been introduced as a potential marker in the prognosis of various cancers as well as in the early identification of tumor formation, progression, and metastasis.
