Abstract:
Simple sequence repeat markers (SSRs) can be used in SSR-PCR for the differentiation and identification of organisms. Here, we describe two methods for strain differentiation using the example of Botrytis cinerea, differing in their complexity, by capillary sequencer and agarose gel electrophoresis. Nearly all analyzed strains could be distinguished by both methods and assigned a unique "fingerprint."
