Abstract:
Metastatic liver cancer is a common terminal manifestation of malignant neoplasms, with colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) being particularly prevalent. Surgical resection is applicable only to a small proportion of patients. In recent years, interventional therapy has become an important local treatment modality for patients with unresectable metastatic liver cancer, offering advantages such as minimal invasiveness, precision, and repeatability, thus supporting downstaging, bridging, and salvage therapy. The role of interventional therapy is shifting from terminal palliative care toward a systematic therapeutic strategy within a multidisciplinary comprehensive management framework, emphasizing individualized stratification based on tumor burden, hepatic function, and therapeutic objectives to facilitate intrahepatic tumor burden reduction, create a window for radical treatment, and enhance long-term patient survival.
