Abstract:
Achilles tendon rupture is an important research topic in the field of sports medicine. Its imaging diagnosis, treatment methods, rehabilitation strategies, and prognosis assessment have always been the focus of academic attention. MRI examination is widely used in diagnosing Achilles tendon rupture, but it has disadvantages such as high cost, long examination time, and metal contraindications. Ultrasound examination has the advantages of being non-invasive, low cost, comfortable, and portable, and it also has high specificity and accuracy, which has significant application value. The treatment methods for Achilles tendon rupture mainly include conservative treatment and surgical treatment. The choice of treatment strategy should be comprehensively considered based on the patient's age, degree of injury, physical condition, and rehabilitation compliance. The advantage of conservative treatment is that it costs less and avoids incision infection or poor healing, but it has a higher re-rupture rate. The advantages of open surgery include direct visualization of the tendon end and application of correct tension to restore the tendon length, but it is prone to incision infection and sural nerve injury. Minimally invasive surgery has the advantages of small incision and low complications, and is increasingly being applied in clinical practice. Regardless of the treatment plan adopted, systematic rehabilitation plays a crucial role in improving functional prognosis. In my opinion, the current research focus is on the improvement of minimally invasive surgical methods, the development and clinical application of new anti-adhesion technologies, and the optimization design of personalized rehabilitation plans. At the same time, future research needs to further explore how to reduce the incidence of complications and improve the postoperative quality of life of patients through surgical method innovation and the application of biomaterials.
