A criticism of three arguments on recurrent imaging and risk
1Dept of Medical Physics & Bioengineering, St James's Hospital, DUBLIN 8, Dublin, Ireland.
Abstract:
Managing radiation protection (RP) in relation to recurrent imaging continues to be debated. Recent arguments have focussed on high Cumulative Effective Dose (CED), especially where it exceeds 100mSv. This article argues that CED should not be the primary focus for tracking concerns on recurrent imaging. Arguments which advocate for increased RP measures after 100mSv is exceeded are criticised as being in conflict with the LNT model. Finally, a view of dose history as adding to background risk is discussed. .

Imaging Studies for Cardiovascular System III: X-Ray
Definition and Purpose
An X-ray, or radiograph, is a non-invasive method that uses ionizing radiation to take images of internal structures. It is mainly used in cardiac imaging to examine the heart, lungs, and major blood vessels, aiming to identify abnormalities in the heart's size, shape, and position, such as heart failure, congenital defects, and vascular...
