Abstract:
Novel photo-controlled self-assembly systems, perylene diimide (PDI)-based photo-switchable organic macrocycles containing diarylethene (DTE), were synthesized, which can form rectangular microsheets evolved from nanofibers. The photoisomerization of DTE triggers a photo-responsive, time-dependent morphological evolution from cuboid structures to nanofibrous clusters, observed for these organic conjugated macrocycles under uniform UV irradiation.
