Background:
Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with massive intrahepatic tumors and bone metastases is associated with poor prognosis, and standard treatment options are limited. Bone metastases, particularly to rare sites such as the scapula, pose additional therapeutic challenges.
Case Presentation:
We report a patient with a giant intrahepatic HCC and scapular metastasis. The patient received three sessions of drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) combined with systemic therapy using lenvatinib and camrelizumab. Marked radiological regression and improvement in tumor markers were observed. The patient remained progression-free at the last documented follow-up of 16 months.
Conclusion:
The combination of DEB-TACE, lenvatinib, and camrelizumab for treating advanced hepatocellular carcinoma with scapular metastasis was shown to be feasible in this case and was associated with sustained disease control of both intrahepatic and extrahepatic lesions.
