Abstract:
Caudal Duplication Syndrome is an extremely rare congenital malformation in which structures derived from notochord and embryonic cloaca are duplicated to a variable extent. We report a case of 6-year-old female who presented with complete lower gastrointestinal and genitourinary duplication, large omphalocele, and spinal dysraphism. Bladder unification was performed due to left sided urethral hypoplasia and excision of left sided less developed duplicated gut. Patient is now on medical management due to voiding dysfunction. This case highlights complexity of diagnosis and management challenges in these anomalies and underscores importance of individualized and multidisciplinary management.
