[Hay fever from the immunobiochemical aspect]
Abstract:
An immuno-biochemical examination was carried out in 21 patients with hay fever. The study covered patients, who had already been desensitized by pollen depot allergen before the blooming season and patients who had not yet undergone desensitization treatment. These results were compared with the results of a control group. Four out of seven patients without desensitization showed very high values of immunoglobulin E, i.e. a very high reagin activity. The remaining three showed values after repeated desensitization revealed increased values of immunoglobulin A. In one patient the biochemical examination was carried out shortly after the latest application of pollen allergen.
