    Background:

    • Nasal allergy and bronchial asthma frequently coexist with nasopharyngeal inflammation (nasopharyngitis).
    • This subclinical inflammation can significantly impact host systemic responses.

    Observation:

    • Nasopharyngeal inflammation is often asymptomatic and detectable only via direct examination (swab).
    • Stimulation of the nasopharynx can trigger systemic responses through the autonomic nervous system.

    Findings:

    • Local treatment of nasopharyngitis demonstrably improved symptoms of nasal allergy and bronchial asthma.
    • Treatment normalized associated immunological markers, including serum IgA and eosinophilia.

    Implications:

    • Targeting nasopharyngeal inflammation offers a novel therapeutic strategy for allergic and asthmatic conditions.
    • Early detection and treatment of nasopharyngitis may prevent systemic complications and improve patient outcomes.
