Abstract:
As developed by Shen et al., multiple fungal pathogen detection (MFPD) enables screening of partial and full-length ITS (Internal Transcribed Spacer) datasets for reported fungal pathogens. Linking pathogen detection with crop-context interpretation can help plant science move beyond community profiling towards decision support for biovigilance, disease phenotyping, and resistance breeding.
