Abstract:
The authors' accepted manuscript "Comparative study of Curcumin and Lucentis on retinal neovascularization" [Ophthalmic Res. 2022. DOI: 10.1159/000527470] by Lu Yang, Ximei Zhang, Dongping Li, Guohong Zhou, Jiewei Liu, Yan Gao, Shufang Du, Yanyun Shi, Yong Li, and Na Di has been retracted by the Publisher and the Editor. After peer review, the accepted, unedited manuscript was published online as Early View. Before the final Version of Record was published, concerns were identified in one of the figures. Specifically, in Figure 1 the representative images for GFAP OIR and Lucentis were the same. The authors were asked to comment on this and to provide the original data for the article. The authors stated that the duplication was an error and that some of the original data had been lost. The authors did not clarify what data was available or provide this data within the given timeframe despite multiple attempts of contact. As a consequence of the authors' failure to respond to the journal about the original data for the study, the Editor has rescinded their original acceptance decision. Consequently, the published author's accepted manuscript has been retracted. The authors did not respond within the given timeframe to indicate agreement or disagreement with this decision.
