Abstract:
Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by a predisposition to multiple tumors, including central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastomas, retinal hemangioblastomas and renal cell carcinoma. The present report details the case of a 39-year-old male patient presenting with progressive dizziness and left-sided visual deterioration, whose neuroimaging results revealed multifocal hypervascular lesions in the suprasellar region, left cerebellar hemisphere and spinal cord. Following resection of the cerebellar lesion, histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of hemangioblastoma, and the overall pattern of multifocal CNS involvement supported a clinical diagnosis of VHL disease. This case highlighted a rare suprasellar manifestation of VHL disease and the diagnostic challenges posed by atypical multifocal CNS presentations.
