Abstract:
Three methodologically distinct analyses partition periodontitis common-variant heritability across 27 gingival cell types. They agree on an immune-over-stromal direction but nominate three different top cell types, and a low-power analysis inverts the fibroblast signal; the current periodontitis GWAS therefore cannot resolve heritability to a single gingival cell type.
