[Supporting physical boundaries in psychomotor therapy: A sensory-motor approach]

Abstract:
André Bullinger describes the stabilization of a child's bodily boundaries as the result of the child's activity, which produces changes in muscle tone that are interpreted by those around the child. This perspective provides a theoretical foundation for understanding the role of the body's "envelopes" in psychomotor therapy. Here, it is applied to understand the mechanism of action of a body-awareness practice (Feldenkrais) in the treatment of a woman exhibiting anxiety symptoms during the postpartum period.
