Abstract:
Optomechanical frequency combs (OMFCs) are generated in high-Q microbubble cavities when an optomechanical system is simultaneously driven by ultrasound and laser light. The combs originate from nonlinear interactions between optomechanical modes and ultrasonically driven mechanical oscillations. The comb spacing and intensity are manipulated by the frequency and amplitude of the ultrasound, as well as by the optical pump power and frequency detuning. The combination of the OMFC and the optical spring effect further enhances the temperature-sensing sensitivity.
