Abstract:
The Sharon operation is useful for recurrent sigmoid volvulus in high-risk patients because of its minimal invasiveness and short operative time. We report the case of a patient with recurrent sigmoid volvulus who was at high risk during general anesthesia and successfully underwent the Sharon operation under spinal anesthesia. This case suggests that spinal anesthesia may be a feasible option for selected patients undergoing this procedure.
