Abstract:
Recent reports of physician suicides in Iran, especially following the loss of a well-known doctor, have renewed concern about a serious public health problem associated with burnout and mental health challenges. This Comment uses the integrated motivational-volitional (IMV) model to examine how psychological, environmental, and social factors may combine to affect suicidal thoughts among medical professionals and calls for urgent action.
