Impact:
The Aggregate Index of Systemic Inflammation (AISI) may serve as an additional inflammatory marker for identifying children with Kawasaki disease (KD) who require closer coronary surveillance. AISI integrates standard hematological parameters and may complement, rather than replace, established clinical and echocardiographic risk assessment. Current evidence supports further prospective validation before AISI can be included in treatment decision pathways. AISI-based risk stratification may contribute to future personalized approaches in KD management.
