Abstract:
Pneumonic plague is rare compared to bubonic plague; data on clinical presentation and treatment outcomes are scant. We report on 13 prospectively-enrolled suspected pneumonic plague cases (7 laboratory-confirmed, one probable, 5 not-plague) treated with aminoglycoside plus ciprofloxacin for 10 days and discuss findings in the context of the available literature.
