Abstract:
Integrated compositional and morphological designs provide an effective strategy to optimize both thermodynamic and kinetic behaviors, thus enabling the construction of high-efficiency electrocatalysts. Herein, we develop ReS2 and FeS2 heterojunction nanosheet arrays arranged on a carbon cloth substrate (labeled as ReS2/FeS2@CC hereafter) through a one-step hydrothermal strategy. Experimental data demonstrated that the construction of heterojunctions and sheet-like arrays can freely reconfigure the electronic configuration, expedite charge transfer, and provide abundant reactive sites. Consequently, the ReS2/FeS2@CC electrode exhibits outstanding hydrogen evolution performance in an alkaline medium, with an overpotential of 109 mV, affording a current density of 10 mA cm-2, a Tafel slope of 103.7 mV dec-1 and long-term electrochemical stability in the i-t test for 56 h and the 4000-cycle test, thereby offering a promising method for sustainable and economical H2 production.
