Abstract:
In this issue of Med, Agnesi et al., show that residual trunk movements after spinal cord injury can modulate the effects of epidural spinal cord stimulation (SCS) to enable participants to volitionally initiate and control stepping.1 This trunk-mediated interface offers a practical strategy for bringing epidural SCS one step closer to widespread clinical adoption.
