Abstract:
Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using the all-inside technique offers bone preservation and minimal invasiveness. However, single hamstring tendon autografts with a diameter below 8 mm carry increased failure risk. BioBrace (ConMed), a biocomposite scaffold of bioresorbable poly(L-lactide) microfilaments and type I collagen, provides mechanical reinforcement and biological support for graft healing. The purpose of writing this article is to describe an all-inside anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using quadrupled semitendinosus autograft augmented with BioBrace biocomposite scaffold.
