Combined Bleaching, Microabrasion and Resin Infiltration for Postorthodontic White Spot Lesions: A Case Report
1Department of Conservative Dental Science College of Dentistry Qassim University Buraydah Saudi Arabia qu.edu.sa.
Abstract:
White spot lesions (WSLs) are a form of subsurface enamel demineralization frequently observed following orthodontic treatment and adversely affect dental aesthetics. This case report describes the successful management of noncavitated postorthodontic WSLs in the maxillary anterior teeth of a 32-year-old female. A sequential, minimally invasive approach was utilized, combining in-office bleaching, microabrasion, and resin infiltration (Icon, DMG, Hamburg, Germany). The protocol led to notable aesthetic improvement and satisfactory shade integration across two clinical sessions. In this patient, resin infiltration combined with microabrasion provided an effective treatment modality for postorthodontic WSLs.
