Abstract:
This study reports the first complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Neomyia gavisa. The mitochondrial genome is 16,205 bp in length, with an A + T content of 78.5%. The genome contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and a control region. All PCGs start with ATN except cox1 (TCG). Bayesian inference analyses indicate that Neomyia is closely related to Eudasyphora, and that the tribe Stomoxyini is nested within Muscini. The present mitogenome expands taxon sampling within Muscidae and provides a valuable molecular resource for the reconstruction of evolutionary histories at genus level.
